THE BARBARA-LEE COMEDY WEDDING: A DINNER THEATRE ADVENTURE
Imagine the hilarity as a group of misplaced New Yorkers arrive at the Sanford, Florida Riverboat the “Barbara-Lee” for one of the most entertaining, madcap, and chaotically planned weddings in the history of the St Johns River!
The audience joins in as “wedding guests” at this absurdly comic and immersive live theatre show as you become part of the action where EVERYTHING that can go wrong, definitely does go wrong, at the funniest comedy wedding of the year!
The “Barbara-Lee Comedy Wedding” marks a return to the “not so high seas” of the St. Johns River, after a 4 year highly successful run on the previous Rivership Romance, and a run in St. Louis on the Gateway Arch Riverboats! Featuring an all-new cast of hilarious Central Florida performers!
Michelle Wyatt, the current owner and proprietor of the Barbara Lee says that “The return of theatre onboard the ship after a 12-year hiatus brings me a great deal of joy. It gives us one more channel for the community to experience the enchantment of a historic paddle-wheeler while experiencing family friendly entertainment. We are looking forward to laughing with the audience over the many mishaps that occur and partnering with the creative team on future productions as well.”
Plans for both Halloween Ghost Cruises and Holiday Cabarets are in the works.
There are a number of employees on the Rivership who remember the original production from years ago and welcome it back with open arms. Wyatt enjoys the fact that “We have many employees on the Barbara Lee that experienced the original theater production that played for several years onboard the Rivership Romance over 12 years ago. They loved seeing the audience reactions to the play including some guests that thought they were in the wrong place because of the actors and their skill convinced them they had stumbled into an actual wedding. We are looking forward to similar reactions in this year’s production.”

Beginning June 9th, 2024, The Barbara-Lee Wedding Cruise will be performing 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month with Guests boarding at 4:30 and the Rivership cruising 5-8 and also the 4th Thursday of each month for lunch boarding
